3 Execute mathematical operations accurately.
Case1
When creating websites and XD prototypes, we use numbers for either pixels or inches. We need to know the proper sizes for web design and poster design, knowing suitable font sizes appropriate for its purpose.
Case 2
In the first year of graphic design, we had an assignment to cut card stock into a 7.5 by 10 square and measure out an equal spare grid of 1 inch 1/4. The tools were used as a ruler and size small ink pens. This project was about perfecting the lines and squares, making sure they had the same size and weight throughout the grid, and if a line looked different, you’d have to start over. That project was very challenging, and I had to redo it a bunch; that’s why triple checking and using pencil first is essential and then using ink when you know the math is correct. I had to take a few breaks to clear my head, but I finished the project and handed it in.
